Russia Ready for GEW 2010


Led by Junior Achievement Russiaand the US-Russia Center for Entrepreneurship, Russia has led Global Entrepreneurship Week countries in the overall number of activities in each of its first two years. Only time will tell if history repeats itself for GEW 2010... in the meantime, Nina Kuznetsova of JA Russia offers a glimpse below at a few highlights from the upcoming campaign.

Всемирная неделя предпринимательства в Москве
Цель конференции предоставить преподавателям российских вузов площадку форума, где бы они могли почерпнуть у экспертов и своих коллег передовой опыт в сфере развития предпринимательского образования. На конференции предусмотрены выступления представителей ведущих вузов Москвы и регионов России, а также мастер-классы европейских экспертов по обучению предпринимательству. В дискуссиях также примут участие предприниматели, которые преподают «Предпринимательство» в вузах.

European Conference “Enterprise without Borders”

The European Teacher Conference welcomes over 200 education professionals, business advisors and JA YE staff from all over Europe. Enterprise without Borders (EwB) – an extension of Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise (JA-YE) Company Program is designed to teach secondary school and/or college students the value and importance of international trade and the practical skills necessary to function at an international market. The EwB Conference hosted by Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise (JA-YE) Norway is a unique opportunity to develop exciting cross border collaborations between schools across Europe. During the two days, the participants will get familiar with the EwB program, get to know how private businesses work internationally, build entrepreneurial partnerships teachers, business advisors and students’ JA-YE mini-corporations. 

Launch of JA Russia’s GEW 2010 Mentoring Marathon at Ministry of Economic Development of Russia

JA Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation have drawn together the ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship’ panel to offer young people the chance to hear from a passionate and knowledgeable range of speakers on the role of entrepreneurship in jumpstarting the economy. Government officials, policymakers and high-profile entrepreneurs will be present to lead interactive discussions. The sessions will be streamed live on the web.


“New Technologies and Social Networks in Education for the ‘Digital Generation’” Conference at the Public Chamber of Russia

The conference aims to share best practices and explore the future trends in education of youth, with a focus on the progressive lines built into the technology young people use everyday – participative platforms, social networks and other technological advances. Leading experts will discuss the ways and instruments of creating more effective and modern delivery of education and experiences, and broader use of fit for purpose social networks and technologies to ensure today’s ‘digital generation’ is given opportunities to develop relevant skills, entrepreneurial attitudes and behavior in the broadest terms and in all forms as a driver of and the basis of innovation, creativity and modernization of economy. Panel debates will be followed by master class “New Trends in the cloud is computing” by Mr. Owen Kemp, President, Newclouds. The conference is a collaboration between JA Russia and the Public Chamber of Russia.

Entrepreneurship Education Conference in Russian Universities

The objective of the Entrepreneurship Education at the Russian Higher School conference with the aim of giving the faculty of Russian higher schools a forum site to borrow best practice of entrepreneurship education development from experts and peers. The Conference will include speakers from the leading universities and colleges of Moscow and other Russian cities, master classes of European experts in entrepreneurship education. The conference discussions will be joined by entrepreneurs teaching entrepreneurship at higher schools, and is organized by CFE Russia.

IX National Conference ‘Microfinance in Russia on the Threshold of Change: Lessons of the Crisis and New Opportunities’

CFE Russia have invited international institutions, representatives of financial cooperatives, members of the banking community, private and non-profit microfinance institutions, branchless banking operators, government, and stakeholders concerned with access to financial services to attend the Conference. The event features Michaela Walsh, founder and past president of Women's World Banking.
